Hospitals and medical care in DHA Lahore

Read those four rows and the shape of it is clear. The largest hospital serving DHA is private. The second largest is a DHA joint venture built by somebody else. DHA's own hospital, the only one it runs itself, has forty-six beds — fewer than either.

The DHA Hospital in Phase 3 began as the DHA Medical Centre and was upgraded. It has twenty-two departments across those forty-six beds.

That is about two hundred and seventy-nine kanal set aside for healthcare across six locations, and nothing has been built on any of it. The largest single piece — a hundred and fifty-two kanal in Phase 8 Sector CC3 — is more than three times the land DHA's only working hospital sits on.

DHA lists a medical centre in Phase 6 Sector E, 22.25 kanal. A property article from 2018 said DHA planned a two-hundred-and-twenty-bed hospital there with four operating theatres. From 2019 to today we found no tender, no construction, no inauguration and no news. It is land, and it has stayed land.

Separately, a place called IMC Medical Centre is open in Phase 6 at B-44 MB, Sector B. It is not that hospital and it is not DHA's. It is a branch of the IMC Hospital in Phase 5 and it is outpatient only — specialist clinics, a laboratory collection point with home sampling, a pharmacy and diagnostic screening. No beds.

Doctor-listing websites claim the Phase 6 centre has a 24-hour emergency. IMC's own website says no such thing — it says extended hours. Those sites appear to have copied the Phase 5 hospital's description, and one of them prints a phone number that actually belongs to National Hospital. In an emergency, that error could cost you the drive.

DHA's medical facilities page lists, under DHA Hospital, an address in Sector A, Phase 6 near the main DHA office complex — sharing the same phone number as the Phase 3 hospital. Sector A, Phase 6 is DHA's own head office. This is almost certainly the administrative office, not a second hospital. We are not listing it as one.

We also note that DHA's own page for the Integrated Medical Complex in Phase 5 now returns an error — DHA has taken it down. The hospital is open and working; it is DHA's page about it that has gone.

Two things. First, do not choose a phase on the promise of a hospital that is only reserved land — six such reservations have stood unbuilt, one of them since at least 2018. Second, the phases that are genuinely well served for healthcare today are Phase 1, Phase 3 and Phase 5, because that is where the working hospitals are.
